My name is john newbern, and for nearly 20 years i published teh cartoon and joke series of books called sex to sexty. Bill wenzel was one of my favorite artists, and i have decided to make available to the public a few original creations his. This work was published in sex to sexty in the 60's or 70's.
This is na early one, folks, and is a grand example of wenzel at his best. The art is 8 1/2 by 10 1/2 pen and ink with a grye wash on paper. This art has the editing marks above the gag and was cut to fit into the joke book and other than that, it is perfect! The gag was typed on the bottmo of the page and reads, there's going to be a morticians' convention in town, and they want to lease our bodies for the week.
The signature is in the lower left corner of the art. The winning bidder will have acquired a piece of americana worthy of being called an heirloom.
