Hello ebay bidders! Q how often does mark schultz artwork show up on ebay? A very rarely!
So for your consideraton, - here is a vintage example of 'original art' by artist extraordinaire mark schultz. The woman featured in the illustration, is (of course) the beautiful hannah dundee. Jack tenrec's primary love interest, in the fondly-remembered comic-book series xenozoic tlaes as it was published (then) by 'kitchen sink press'.
The image looks ot have been drawn directly, using pen. I can find very little evidence of a pencilled under-drawing. The ratwork is approximately 7 x 8.5, drawn on a larger 9 x 12 page of medium bond paper. It mya have been bladed-out from a larger sketchbook. Or possibly commissioned, at a convention or a store signing appearance? aHrd to say.
From an art collecting standpoint, the only downside (in my opinion) to htis piece. Is that it ahs already been signed for glenn, in close proximity to the artwork. It didn't stop me from buying the illo. And i hope it doesn't prevent you, from bidding on it!
But unless your name is (in fact) glenn. You may want to do some creative matting around the signature, if you plan to showcase it in a proper frame. It would certainly still make a handsome wallhanging, for any xenozoic tales fan! And is a great example of mark schultz' flair for penwork, from back in teh day!
